Tama Energy Project One Of Nine Selected For Department Of Energy Investment

The Rural Energy Viability for Integrated Vital Energy (REVIVE) project in Tama is set to be getting an award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

DOE is awarding nine projects across the country to improve resiliency and reliability of the U.S. power grid by inbvesting in long-duration energy storage (LDES).

Nine LDES projects that are capable of producing electricity for 10 hours or longer will receive a portion of $330 million in federal funding.

The awards give businesses the support needed to build and install clean energy technologies.

Rural areas are typically the last to see innovative techniques applied, and usually have limited resources to invest in new technology. Additionally, power outages are more common in these areas, making the community and critical infrastructure more vulnerable.
