Russian ferrovanadium prices to rise

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 18 – As there is small spot supply in Russian market, prices for ferrovanadium 50%min increased to USD83.0-85.0/kg V this week in the spot market, increasing by about USD3/kg V over the past two weeks. However, in view of sharp depreciation of rubles, local buyers put of making purchases and watch the market for a while. The price for the material will be firm next week.

“The lowest quotation for ferrovanadium 50%min from local major suppliers is about USD83.8/kg V at present in the spot market, increasing by about USD3.6/kg V compared with the beginning of April, when we ordered about 10t of the material at about USD80.2/kg V,” said a Russian ferrovanadium 50%min trader, adding that they have not received the material as their supplier has no stock now. They think that the price for the material will be firm at high level next week or even go up slightly further if the price in European market goes up again.
