GACC: China’s Foreign Trade Sector Begins With Steady Performance In First Two Months Of 2023

Data from General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) show that in the first two months of 2023 China’s import and export value recorded RMB6.18 trillion (USD0.89 trillion), down slightly by 0.8% year on year. In particular, export value recorded RMB3.5 trillion (USD0.50 trillion), up by 0.9% YoY, and import value recorded RMB2.68 trillion (USD0.38 trillion), down by 2.9% YoY, resulting in a trade surplus of RMB810.32 billion (USD116 billion), up by 16.2% YoY. China’s exports in the first two months this year hit a new high compared with export volumes in the same periods of previous years, indicating that the year of 2023 began with steady performance in international trading.
