Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) has authorized five battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 468.2 MW across Piedmont, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Puglia and Emilia-Romagna. The approvals follow a record September, when the ministry issued single authorization (AU) decrees for more than 3 GW of battery storage projects.
