Sichuan finishes fist-stage target of ten measures for air pollution prevention and control

Recently, Sichuan province held the experts consulting conference on the terminal assessment of ten measures for air pollution prevention and control (“the measures”). With the complementation of the measures since 2013, air quality improved notably in the province and all goals of the measures in stage one (2013-2017) were completed. According to the assessment, management of coal-fired boilers, transform in key industries and urban dust improvement made great contributions to the air pollutant emission reduction. However, as air pollution in Sichuan Basin has its regional feature, it is hard to control the particular matter; moreover, ozone’s influence becomes more obvious. Thus the pollution situation is still severe.
