NOBLE ALLOYS MIDWEEK: FeW, FeV prices under pressure from weak demand in Europe

Ferro-vanadium and ferro-tungsten prices continued to come under pressure in Europe in the first half of the week to Wednesday October 11, as sellers cut their offers to secure scarce buying enquiries.

Ferro-vanadium prices fell to $36.45-37 per kg, delivered duty-paid in Europe, down from $36.95-37.50 per kg at the end of last week, according to Metal Bulletin’s assessment. “There is such slow demand, and you get to a point where you need to make sure you get the business,” a trader source said. “When an end-user comes into the market they have 15 potential sellers.
